Around 2,000 Indians back to homeland from Greece

This bad news has not only knocked the door of Greece but India’s also because NRI’s (Non-resident Indian) who are earning their bread and butter in Greece are coming back to their motherland India. As per recent news, Greek parliament has permitted a multi billion Euro treasure sale which is conveying prime happenings of Greece that Greece is on sale. A big question mark must have been displayed on your face after reading this sentence.  The headline is around two thousand Indians, who were working in Greece’s numbers of sectors are right now  leaving this worried country. Greece’s assets contain eight hundred fifty ports, thirty nine airports, sewage works, 1000 acres land, railways, national lottery, 2 energy companies, casinos and banks. This sale has been held to earn 50 billions to pay back about 100 billion Euros bailout debt.

As per Greece’s Indian community organisation and Indian shipping businessman Madhur Gandhi who is located in Athens has reported that almost two thousand Indians have been deported from Greece.

Mr. Gandhi conveyed that many shops and factories have been shut down therefore our Indian brothers lost their jobs. This sudden crisis has also affected on agriculture sector but the prime affected sector is construction business. Almost 1000 -2000 construction workers had to quit their jobs, you can imagine that they are going through such a tough time.

Greece’s total population contains around 30,000 Indians approximately, but out of that only 18000 Indians were legally migrants. Though most of the Indian people were engaged  with agricultural stuff, they were working on numbers of Greek islands whereas 100 Indians were settled in Athens. The Indian people who were busy in agriculture sector, they were less affected by Athen’s riots; the reason was majority of Indians were working on capital city’s outer region. Mr. Gandhi also added that Indian community was getting much affinity and respect from  local land sons.

The strange fact is, Indians are coming back to India but they are not moving towards Europe for jobs. The finance experts of Greece are hoping to get bail out from Chinese investment. Various austerity whispering that this debt crisis has already generated strikes and riots within Greece. Undoubtedly, we can predict that coming days are very harsh and tough in Greece, lets hope for betterment of our Greece and Indian brothers....
